Presentation Description: The 2024 shift of NFPA 70B from a recommendation to a mandatory standard for electrical equipment maintenance presents a critical challenge for wastewater facilities. Failure to comply can lead to serious consequences. This presentation outlines SacSewer’s proactive approach: partnering with Black & Veatch to implement a comprehensive Electrical Maintenance Program (EMP) at the EchoWater Resource Recovery Facility.

This case study will include how to navigate the transition, address specific challenges with assessing electrical infrastructure, and create a robust EMP that ensures compliance, enhances safety, and improves operational reliability.
