Presentation Description: Effective leadership is important to the water and wastewater industry. As individuals advance in their careers, they are required to lead both internal and external teams. These dynamic environments demand versatile leaders who can inspire their teams to achieve their full potential.
This presentation will present four leadership styles: 1) Leading from the Front, 2) Leading from Behind, 3) Leading from the Pack, and 4) Leading from the Side. A description of strengths and weaknesses will be provided for each style. The presenter will provide examples of how each leadership style may manifest in both professional and personal life. Audience members will be encouraged to engage by providing examples of their experience with each leadership style to facilitate a curated discussion.
This presentation will draw on books, articles, and real-world examples to support the idea that no single leadership style is universally effective. It will explore a range of leadership frameworks to provide context, highlight their interconnections, and reinforce the importance of adapting leadership approaches to meet different situations.
