Karina Jimenez, PhD, is a project engineer in the Wastewater Research section at the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts (LACSD), where she helps coordinate the Districts’ wastewater surveillance projects and contributes to ongoing odor control optimization projects. Karina holds a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from UCLA, where her doctoral work centered on antimicrobial resistance in coastal waters.
