Process Engineer
Tomorrow Water
Anaheim, CA
I am a Process Engineer with more than four years of experience in the design, development, and optimization of advanced wastewater treatment systems for both municipal and industrial applications. At Tomorrow Water Inc. in Anaheim, California, I serve as a Process Engineer and Product Owner for the company’s shortcut sidestream deammonification process, known as the AMX (Partial Nitritation-Anammox) technology.
In my current role, I lead full-scale and pilot-scale projects focused on sustainable nitrogen removal and process efficiency. I manage all aspects of process design, technology selection, modeling, and commissioning, while collaborating closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams. My project experience spans a variety of sectors, including food and beverage, semiconductor, solar panel, and municipal wastewater treatment. I have also led pioneering pilot projects implementing the Partial Denitrification-Anammox (PdNA) process, contributing to Tomorrow Water’s R&D and commercialization of next-generation biological treatment technologies. I hold a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Mississippi State University, where my dissertation focused on achieving nutrient-energy-water synergy through bioelectrochemical nitrogen removal. I also earned an M.Sc. in Biological Environmental Engineering from Kangwon National University in South Korea. My core strengths include process modeling, PFD and P&ID development, hydraulic profiling, data interpretation, and technical communication. I enjoy mentoring junior engineers, preparing technical proposals, and presenting research and pilot outcomes at industry conferences. As a registered Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in California and an active member of the California Water Environment Association (CWEA), I am passionate about advancing sustainable, energy-efficient, and data-driven solutions for modern wastewater treatment challenges.
