Heath M. Cortez

Operations Supervisor

Heath Cortez is the Operations Supervisor for the West Bay Sanitary District, where he has worked for 21 years. He began his career in 2005 as a maintenance worker and later served as Construction Field Supervisor. Heath holds a CWEA Collection Systems Grade 4 certification and is the current Chair of the Santa Clara Local Section of the CWEA. In his construction role, he helped implement trenchless rehabilitation and repair methods to reduce SSOs, increase annual repair output, and lower lifecycle costs, enabling crews to complete up to four repairs per day compared to one using open-trench methods.
