Tamarin Austin is the founder and CEO of Austin Clean Water Advisors, Inc., a professional law corporation supporting the public and private sectors in their efforts to improve water quality. Tamarin’s experience includes over a decade as a senior attorney with the State Water Resources Control Board’s Office of Chief Counsel, where she advised regional water boards on a wide array of issues, including permitting and compliance, policy development, basin planning and site cleanup. Prior to that, Tamarin spent 12 years in private practice, litigating on behalf of water purveyors to clean up contaminated groundwater. Through Austin Clean Water Advisors, Inc., Tamarin continues her work in clean water, assisting municipalities, private parties and law firms. She specializes in navigating water board regulations for permitting and site cleanups, and strategizing innovative approaches to multidisciplinary projects. Teaching has been a constant source of joy, and Tamarin has taken her experience as an educator for State Water Board attorneys and staff and modified it for the regulated community, including MCLE courses for attorneys, and workshops and panels for wastewater and stormwater agencies. She enjoys traveling with her family (and the covid puppy) to visit green infrastructure across the world, baking, and outdoor activities with her 50 Girl Scouts.
