Parastou Hooshialsadat is a registered Professional Civil Engineer in California with over 17 years of experience specializing in wastewater collection, conveyance, treatment facility upgrades, and rehabilitation of aging infrastructure
She currently serves as Water Agency Engineer IV at Sonoma Water, where she manages complex capital improvement projects, oversees consultant contracts, and advances system resiliency and regulatory compliance initiatives.
Her technical expertise includes condition assessment and rehabilitation of gravity sewers and force mains, lift station design and upgrades, headworks improvements, trenchless technologies (CIPP, pipe bursting, sliplining, spiral wound PVC), interceptor and trunk sewer design, and development of Sanitary Sewer Management Plans (SSMPs). She has led projects involving large-diameter trunk sewers, seismic retrofits of wastewater treatment plant components, FEMA-funded hazard mitigation efforts, and replacement of critical force mains exceeding 10,000 linear feet.
Parastou’s work frequently integrates hydraulic modeling, bypass pumping design, constructability evaluations, CEQA coordination, and funding compliance through SRF and FEMA programs. She is experienced in delivering technically complex projects within constrained urban corridors, environmentally sensitive areas, and high groundwater conditions while balancing cost, risk, and long-term operational reliability.
She holds an M.S. in Civil Engineering and maintains multiple industry certifications, including NASSCO PACP/MACP and CIPP inspection certification.
