Beyond the Basics of Gas Monitors

Workshop Description: While OSHA Confined Space training is required, it does not cover the operation of the gas monitor because each brand and model is distinct. This presentaion will explore the most important features that every worker should know but which are routinely neglected in training. Jason Call started in gas detection in 1999 and developed the proprietary combination of "confined space refresher/awareness plus brand-specific gas monitor training". Today, the curriculum is the IP of TINOSI, Inc., and marketed as Gas Monitor Competence Training among other names.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe why Confined Space Entry training alone does not enable workers to confidently use a gas monitor.
  • Discuss options for helping your workers become knowledgeable, confident, and safe with their specific gas monitors.
  • Know the features available on your particular brand of gas monitors, their importance, and how to access them.
